Private 3 Days Desert Tour from Marrakech Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech → Ait Ben Haddou → Dades Valley

Morning

At 8:00 AM, we’ll pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech and begin our drive toward the southeast. The road winds through the High Atlas Mountains, offering incredible views and passing through authentic Berber villages that have held onto their traditional way of life.

Our first stop is the UNESCO-listed Ait Benhaddou, one of Morocco’s most famous and best-preserved kasbahs. Here, you’ll explore the ancient fortified village, wander its narrow alleys, and climb to the top for sweeping views of the valley. Afterward, we’ll sit down for a relaxed lunch in a local restaurant within the village.

Afternoon

In the afternoon, we continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco.” You’ll visit the renowned cinema studios, where many blockbuster films and series were brought to life.

From there, the drive takes us deeper into the rugged landscapes of the south, passing through dramatic valleys and rocky terrain until we reach the spectacular Dades Gorge.

As evening sets in, you’ll check into a charming hotel in the gorge, where you can rest and take in the peaceful surroundings after a full day of discovery.

Day 2: Dades Valley → Todra Gorge → Merzouga Desert

Morning

After breakfast, we continue our journey through the stunning Dades Valley. The road takes us past unique rock formations and small villages tucked into the hills. Soon, we arrive at the breathtaking Todra Gorge, where sheer cliffs rise dramatically on both sides. You’ll have time to walk along the river, stretch your legs, and take in the beauty of this natural wonder before we move on.

Afternoon

From here, we drive south toward the edge of the Sahara Desert. Along the way, we pass through palm groves and desert towns, watching as the landscape slowly transforms. When we reach Merzouga, you’ll trade the car for a camel and ride across the rolling dunes of Erg Chebbi. Together, we’ll watch the sunset paint the desert in shades of gold and red — an unforgettable moment.

As night falls, we arrive at our desert camp, where a warm welcome, traditional dinner, and local music await. Under the star-filled sky, you can relax by the fire before sleeping in your private tent among the dunes.

Day 3: Merzouga → Draa Valley → Marrakech

Morning

We wake up early to watch the sunrise over the Sahara dunes, a magical moment that you’ll never forget. After breakfast at the desert camp, we begin our journey back, driving through the wide-open desert landscapes until we reach the lush Draa Valley, lined with endless palm groves, traditional kasbahs, and small Berber villages. Along the way, we’ll stop to stretch our legs, take photos, and enjoy the scenery.

Afternoon

Around lunchtime, we stop in Nkob, a charming village known for its mud-brick kasbahs and peaceful oasis setting. Here, you can relax and enjoy a traditional lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch, we continue our drive through the High Atlas Mountains, winding along scenic mountain roads and passing picturesque Berber villages.

By early evening, we arrive back in Marrakech, bringing your desert adventure to a close.
